Kirriemuir is known as the “Gateway to the Glens” as
just a short drive from the town takes you to the start of these
much celebrated and visually stunning Glens. The five Glens from
West to East reach far into the foothills of the towering Grampian
Mountains and act as an access to the southern edge of the Cairngorms
National Park.
The network of quiet roads leading from Kirriemuir
to the Angus Glens, each with a wealth of parking and picnic spots,
affords everyone
the opportunity to enjoy some of the most strikingly beautiful
and contrasting scenery in Scotland.
With so many opportunities for a wide range of outdoor pursuits
from gentle rambles to hill walking to serious mountaineering the
Glens
offer something for all ages and interests alike.
